There has been a small hiatus in the blog as a friend was visiting: coauthor (The Robert B. Parker Companion with me), bookseller, professor, librarian, and award-winning writer Dean James. Starting in February, Dean will be teaching a course at Rice University on the American mystery; go here for further details.American-born but resident in Britain, author Marian Babson turns 78 today. She has published more than 40 mysteries; her latest book is Only the Cat Knows.
