Books for Servicepeople.

Many devoted mystery fans are serving in military units overseas and greatly appreciate donations of books. Two volunteer efforts that put books into their hands are Operation Paperback and Books for Soldiers.

I've been sending paperbacks via Operation Paperback for about a year now, and the thank-you notes from the recipients have been most touching.
