Happy birthday, Dorothy Salisbury Davis.

MWA Grand Master Dorothy Salisbury Davis (A Gentleman Called, 1958; A Gentle Murderer, 1951; Where the Dark Streets Go, etc.) was born today in Chicago in 1916. In her Guest of Honor speech at Malice Domestic VI (repr. in Ten Years of Malice [domestic]), Davis quoted Hilaire Belloc: "It will not matter if my sins are scarlet, if only my books are read."
